I wanted to write this to check in with you to see how your mental, physical, and emotional health are faring. Right now there is a global health crisis from the spread of the novel Coronavirus, so I think it’s especially important to share this video on how to boost your immunity.

My top tips as demonstrated:

  1. Breath Work – removes toxins on exhale, activates the parasympathetic nervous system when breathing deep into the lower lungs, while nose breathing filters toxins
  2. Stretching & moving – gets the blood moving & body feeling good
  3. Twists – further detoxes the body, massages internal organs so they can function better 
  4. Sunlight – Vit D absorption in sunbathing 
  5. Being at home – finally having time for self care, slowing down, & resting more

Outside of the demonstration in this video my tips to boost your immune system are to start taking:

  1. An exercise routine

You can workout online in the safety of your home away from crowds and having to travel. I find my home practice is key to maintaining positivity, energy, and feeling good all around. Time to pick up FitSphere?!?!

  1. High levels of Vitamin C

Eat foods high in Vit C – Thyme, cabbage, parsley, onions, lemons and limes (oranges if they are grown locally and other seasonal fruits and vegetables will have higher nutritional value)

If you want to take supplements, I usually go to as they have pretty much every vitamin brand on the planet available there. 

  1. Zinc

You can get a daily amount of zinc from food too! Foods high in Zinc – Ginger, Pumpkin Seeds, good quality Meat, Lentils.

  1. Probiotics

Look for multi strain – 10-50 Billion cells a day (Strong stomach means you can digest and absorb nutrients better!!)

  1. Manuka Honey

( UMF +15) – 2 tsp a day – one teaspoon in the morning and one teaspoon at night. If you are unfamiliar with the term UMF is a grading standard used to convey the quality of manuka honey for therapeutic qualities. Sometimes a label – will just say +10 which means it’s not therapeutic and not tested.

  1. Essential oils

EOs are excellent to start burning in your room and in your homes. Essential oils are said to kill off airborne bacteria. Favorite brands are Young Living, doTerra, and Plant Therapy.

How I do it: I find doing inhalations with the oils calms my nervous system. I have found it to clear congestion as well as could kill bacteria in the nose:)

Which oils? – Tea Tree, Lavender, Clove Bud, Lemon, Ravensara and Eucalyptus Globulus – use all or choose three from this list – diffuse in your house, spray into the rooms with a spray bottle.

  1. Herbal tinctures

Oregano oil  (5- 10 drops a day if you have the pure oil – be careful it is super strong!! I would suggest 5 drops in the morning and 5 drops in the evening. If you have the supplements 500mg 2 x a day) or Echinacea – 500mg a day

  1. Drink lots of good quality water!!! 

Water is crucial for everything, but especially to help flush things out of our body.

  1. Keep good hygiene

Washing hands as soon as you get home, changing to home clothing, don’t wear outside shoes indoors, and cleaning the surface of your phone with alcohol which carries germs from outside as well.

There is no need to do ALL of these, but adding a few to your daily routine will also help you to feel strong and less fearful about everything that is happening. Some of these methods are not scientifically supported, but they are natural remedies that I enjoy using for peace of mind. Stay safe and healthy everyone!
